One evening, at the end of a warm day in July, a bouquet standing on the table seemed to me engaging. Arrange flowers and light one lamp standing on a table against a warm wall color and strong shadow behind it reminded me of the mood of Dutch painting. To balance the colors of flowers and create an image similar to the mood of paintings of Dutch painters, I needed some fruit. By a happy coincidence apple and lemon fulfilled their role perfectly. On the whole cycle of pictures that I made this evening to give the mood, beautiful composition and colors, this image seems to me to be the best.

Pewnego wieczoru, pod koniec cieplego lipcowego dnia, bukiet stojacy na stole wydal mi sie interesujacy. Ulozenie kwiatow i swiatlo jednej lampy stojacej na stole na tle cieplego koloru sciany i mocnego cienia za nim przypomnialo mi nastroj holenderskiego malarstwa. By zrównoważyć kolory kwiatów i stworzyć obraz podobny do nastroju obrazów malarzy holenderskich, ja potrzebowalam jakiś owoców. Szczęśliwym zbiegiem okoliczności jablko i cytryna spełniły swoją rolę wyśmienicie. Z całego cyklu zdjęć, które zrobiłam tego wieczoru, aby dać nastrój, piękną kompozycję i kolory, ten obraz wydaje mi się najlepszy.
